SENIOR DESIGNER

The senior designer here at Hey Sunny Studio, and a gal who has recently found herself at the exact place she’s meant to be. I have always found it difficult in life to find my “world”, my “purpose”. Being friends with everyone, working in every hospitality industry possible, and aiming to master every craft out there. From embroidering, to crocheting, to drawing, to ceramics, to woodworking, to sewing - I am always up for the challenge, and strive under pressure. Growing up I wanted to learn it ALL - psychology, art, dental, teaching, animals. Through high-school I began finding a passion in women, and children. I wanted to be a midwife, and then a doula, and then a childhood educator. Due to my inability to narrow it down, I had to find a common factor between them all.

I want to hold space, nurture, and work with and for women who are on a path to being true to themselves and their purpose.

Needless to say, I am a right brained Libra who often finds herself spiralling over trying to figure out which path will get me to the end goal I want, all while considering every single little possibility and outcome possible. Which arguably makes me the greatest brainstormer and motivator in the entire world. Being raised by a single mom of 3, who went back to school when I was only 4 years old, I watched my mom work her ass off. It wasn’t until my early 20’s when I (unexpectedly) had my first child, and realized how my long shifts at restaurants, or my lack of a “tribe” was unsustainable. I daydreamed about working for myself, what I would do, how I could contribute REAL efforts to help support our family, while not being away from my kids 90% of the time and ideally allowing my husband to continue to work local. Being at that stage of life, as a woman, and as a mother is so powerful, yet absolutely terrifying.

Thus began my spiritual journey, my awakening, if you will. I began mediating, attended sacred circles, sound baths, and retreats in an attempt to come home to myself. Calling out for my purpose, my tribe, a space of warmth and welcoming. This is when I was approached by Cheryl, who is a bad ass woman who started her own business and I of course, LOVED being the sound board to all the new, exciting things she was doing. “You mean I could be apart of woman’s growth? While working with my best friend? While filling my creative bucket? While contributing to the household?” How could you say no?

I have been able to put my energy, essence, and self into so many women owned spaces since I’ve begun working within this industry. I have seen women flourish, women bring their husbands home from work, and most importantly I’ve been blessed with watching them say YES to themselves, and invest in something that is not only helping their specific clientele but is also helping themselves reach their highest potential.
